Finding Success
In an online survey taken by current and previous students, participants were asked what they struggled with the most during their program.
The top three answers were:
TIME MANAGEMENT

Beginning graduate school is an exciting time, but balancing work, family, and now school can also be overwhelming. Time management is critical in feeling and being successful. Below are four steps to help you stay on top of all your obligations.
If you don't create time to create a to-do list, it will continue to be a never-done list. Scheduling time to make an organized plan for when you're going to get around to things is a must for gaining that false sense of accomplishment. Pick one to two days a week and give yourself 30 minutes to sit down, uninterrupted, and review your to-do list! This gives you the dedicated time to evaluate your list and schedule tasks in your calendar, create a matrix for the week, or just jot down ideal times in your planner or diary: "Friday, 2 pm: Pay Bills." Having a set time to review your projects, tasks, and appointments every couple of days will allow you to maintain your priorities, keep your to-do list up to date, and give you better peace of mind throughout your week.
COMMUNICATION
As you work to increase your communication, you will increase your success in the program. Talk to your professor and classmates on a regular basis via phone, email, or Zoom.
